Day two!

Second day on site for some, but first one for me this season. The location is as fantastic as ever and it is so nice to be back!
We are still cleaning up and making all those fantastic features emerge and it looks like we will be busy. This year our aim is to examine the suspected entrance area to the northeast of the Craw Stane, and it looks like there is an entrance in the outer ditch here. It will be great if we can investigate the terminals. There may also be some type of entrance in the palisade. We have some suspiciously large post holes in this area, too. So still lots to tease out in terms of the architecture and potentially the phasing of the main complex. We also want to explore what looks like an annexe to the main enclosure complex and we may have something as there are a number of features with a 'ditchy' feel to them. No picture at the moment, but hopefully a drone shot soon for the blog.
